Profile

I'm a senior engineer working on backend platforms and distributed systems. Right now I own payments, workflow orchestration, partner onboarding and document services on a large enterprise insurance platform, and I lead product discovery for a new client building a regulated delivery business from scratch.

What I like most is taking code that was written once, by hand, and turning it into something reusable — a payments layer where a new method is a config change instead of a release, or a state-machine engine that swallowed eight hand-written business modules. It's less glamorous than greenfield work, but it's where the leverage is.

I started out as a developer and later went deep on security — an MSc in Cybersecurity Management at Warwick — and the two have fed each other ever since. I lean on that background to design for failure, idempotency and least privilege by default. Off the clock I'm building Argus, runtime observability for AI agents, and I've played competitive table tennis for thirteen years.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Apr 2025 — Present · Pune, IN

  • Promoted from SDE 2 to Senior Software Engineer I within 12 months on the back of platform ownership and delivery, and since moved to Senior Forward Deployed Engineer: embedded with clients from discovery through delivery.
  • Technical owner of payments, workflow orchestration, partner onboarding and document services for Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance — a 5-engineer team inside a group of 15.
  • Architected a payment integration layer supporting 10+ methods across thousands of monthly transactions, where new methods ship without an application release.
  • Designed a configurable XState workflow engine and migrated 8 hardcoded business modules onto it, cutting the effort for each new journey dramatically.
  • Built a partner-onboarding system that cut go-live from ~2 months to ~2 weeks; 4 partners live so far.
  • Leading the integration design between the insurer's core sales platform and our payment micro-frontend: signed webhooks, idempotent event handling, and one contract for deferred-payment journeys.
  • Moved from sole implementer to lead on payments: handed day-to-day coding to another engineer while keeping the client-facing rulings, design decisions and code review.
  • Lead consultant on a Sprint Zero for a founder launching a regulated direct-to-consumer delivery business in the UAE across four surfaces (consumer app, rider app, support dashboard and warehouse picking). I own the business and product requirements, the market and regulatory research, and the weekly founder sessions that turned the brief into agreed success metrics.
  • Own the quality bar: Snyk and SonarQube in CI, 90%+ coverage on new code, and observability in SigNoz. Mentor junior engineers through code and design review.

  • Rejoined in a lead role after my MSc, leading a team of 5 across 4 concurrent government projects under heavy scope churn.
  • Shipped the Property Tax Management System for the Government of Kenya (Express, Next.js, PostgreSQL) from first commit to production.
  • Ran internal application-security audits — API pen-testing, OWASP Top 10, auth hardening — with findings tracked to fix.
  • Drove DevSecOps adoption: secure-coding guidelines, CI security gates, and training that became the team's onboarding doc. Moved manual deploys onto self-hosted Gitea pipelines covering 10+ projects.

Argus correlates agent actions — LLM calls, tool use, file I/O — with eBPF kernel traces, so you can see what an autonomous agent actually did at the syscall level, not just what it claimed to do.
