Senior Software Engineer
Backend · Platform

I build the backend platforms other teams build on — payments, workflow orchestration, partner onboarding, and the event-driven plumbing that keeps thousands of insurance transactions moving every month.

Profile

I'm a senior engineer working on backend platforms and distributed systems, currently owning payments, workflow orchestration, partner onboarding and document services on a large enterprise insurance platform at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance.

My instinct is to turn one-off implementations into platforms: a payment layer that adds new methods without a release, a configurable state-machine engine that replaced eight hardcoded modules, a partner-onboarding system that cut go-live from two months to two weeks.

I came into engineering through security — I hold an MSc in Cybersecurity Management from Warwick — so I tend to design for failure, idempotency and least privilege by default. Off the clock I'm building Argus, runtime observability for AI agents, and I've played competitive table tennis for thirteen years.

Now

Senior Software Engineer I

Apr 2025 — Present · Pune, IN

  • Promoted from SDE 2 to Senior Software Engineer I within 12 months on the back of platform ownership and delivery.
  • Technical owner of payments, workflow orchestration, partner onboarding and document services for Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance — a 5-engineer team inside a group of 15.
  • Architected a payment integration layer supporting 10+ methods across thousands of monthly transactions, where new methods ship without an application release.
  • Designed a configurable XState workflow engine and migrated 8 hardcoded business modules onto it, cutting the effort for each new journey dramatically.
  • Built a partner-onboarding system that cut go-live from ~2 months to ~2 weeks; 4 partners live so far.
  • Own the quality bar: Snyk and SonarQube in CI, 90%+ coverage on new code, and observability in SigNoz. Mentor junior engineers through code and design review.

Probity Software

Tech Lead / Cyber Security Specialist

Jan 2024 — Apr 2025 · Pune, IN

  • Rejoined in a lead role after my MSc, leading a team of 5 across 4 concurrent government projects under heavy scope churn.
  • Shipped the Property Tax Management System for the Government of Kenya (Express, Next.js, PostgreSQL) from first commit to production.
  • Ran internal application-security audits — API pen-testing, OWASP Top 10, auth hardening — with findings tracked to fix.
  • Drove DevSecOps adoption: secure-coding guidelines, CI security gates, and training that became the team's onboarding doc. Moved manual deploys onto self-hosted Gitea pipelines covering 10+ projects.

Probity Software

Full-Stack Developer · Frontend Project Lead

Sep 2021 — Sep 2022 · Pune, IN

  • Led the frontend for a Municipal Corporation's public and employee portals (Next.js); a shared component library cut build times ~10%.
  • Built the Maharashtra Land Revenue Collection Portal from first commit in React + Redux.
  • Worked directly with government departments on scrum and requirement-gathering.

N. Electronics Corporation

Web Developer / Technical Consultant

Jan 2017 — Jun 2019 · Pune, IN

  • Delivered a full-stack site for Holiday Potter Travel & Tourism (React, Express, PostgreSQL, partner-API integrations); the owner reported ~25% more online enquiries.
  • Built the network architecture for The Royal Lake Banquets & Resorts, with technical consulting for the District Commissioner's Office, Pune.

Things I'm building

Argus

In development

Runtime observability for AI agents. Argus correlates agent actions — LLM calls, tool use, file I/O — with eBPF kernel traces, so you can see what an autonomous agent actually did at the syscall level, not just what it claimed to do. Node.js + TypeScript core, a Next.js dashboard, and a Python SDK.

Momnts

Pre-launch

A mobile-first hangout planner. Server-driven UI with calendar-overlap detection across Google and Apple calendars, so a group finds a time that actually works without the back-and-forth. React Native + Expo, Node.js/Express, PostgreSQL with Prisma.

Drone Forensics Toolkit

MSc dissertation · Distinction

My Warwick dissertation project: a tool for evaluating critical data indicators in drone forensic investigations, scoring which artefacts matter most for reconstructing a flight. Built in Flask and React.
